OVERVIEW: We currently have an opportunity available for a Mental Health Professional located at our Behavioral Health Care Division Office. Under the supervision of a Children’s Mental Health Supervisor, provides community-based clinical case management, individual, family, and group counseling, service linkage, and therapeutic support services to children, adolescents, families and adults who are experiencing mental health and/or substance abuse disorders. 

Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Interviews or conducts initial behavioral health service screenings and provides information and referral services in order to determine client needs and appropriateness of agency/program services.
  • Provides phone screenings, via Intake, to respond to agency crisis calls and referrals for services. 
  • Completes agency's electronic health record documentation to ensure all requirements are entered in order to provide, document, and bill services.
  • Assures that all services identified and authorized are provided, monitored and documented in accord with agency standards of care.


Job Requirements


Education: This position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health discipline including social work, psychology, or counseling or be a licensed practical nurse license pursuant to the Illinois Nursing Act of 1987.This position requires the use of a personal auto, valid driver’s license and motor vehicle report acceptable to the agency’s broker and verification of insurance. 


Experience: Minimum of six months of experience working with children in an educational or clinical setting.
