OVERVIEW: We currently have an opportunity available for a Maintenance Worker with our Child Development and Youth Services division. Under the supervision of the Site Director, this position is responsible for the cleaning, general care and upkeep of the facility and grounds used by the Head Start Program. Duties will include making minor repairs (not requiring journeyman skills) to the facility, grounds and equipment.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Maintains clean, safe and sanitary offices, washrooms, kitchens, other rooms and grounds of the facility in accordance with Head Start, city and state standards.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed according to established timelines and written work schedule.
  • Maintains an accurate inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Maintains and adequate supply of cleaning supplies. Prepares requisition for approval by Site Director when supplies needed to maintain offices and grounds.  
  •  Conducts routine inspections of facility, equipment and grounds Informs site director of results and recommends replacement of equipment or repair services requiring a licensed contractor.

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: A High School Diploma or GED is required. Post Secondary education and or training is a plus. 

Experience & Skills: A minimum of two years experience in maintenance and care of offices, buildings and grounds. Troubleshooting ability, manual dexterity, customer service skills, basic computer skills and a valid driver's license are required.
