Job Description

Basic Function: Supervises and coordinates the activities of custodial staff in the daily maintenance and cleaning of contractual buildings.

Reporting Relationship: Reports To: Project Manager

Supervises: Janitors



Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Supervises assigned custodians in cleaning contractual
  • Recommends personnel actions, i.e., promotions, transfers, hires, and
  • Schedules and assigns work tasks
  • Interviews and evaluates potential candidates for
  • Trains assigned staff in various cleaning
  • Prepares daily work schedules ensuring all specifications outlined in the contract are completed and assigns personnel
  • Prepares performance evaluations of custodial personnel.
  • Ensures the safety and well-being of staff 011 the job site through training and communication.
  • Maintains equipment and supplies and advises on
  • Receives and approves all leave
  • Implements corrective action measures regarding performance/attendance in accordance with program policies and
  • Conducts routine quality control inspections in accordance with statement of
  • Monitors timecard and attendance records daily,
  • * Establishes, maintains, and facilitates interdepartmental relations with office personnel and quality control
  • * Performs all other duties as assigned.

Mental/Physical Demands: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.  Ability to read and interpret documents   such as instruction materials, operating instructions, books, catalogues, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups   of customers or employees of organization.  While performing the duties of this job, the supervisor is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. Toe supervisor frequently is required to sit.  Toe supervisor is occasionally required to stand and walk.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.



Environmental Conditions:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

Job Requirements



Specifications:

Position requires a high school diploma and five years of experience in the janitorial field. Supervisor experience desired.

Other Skill Requirements:

  • Knowledge of cleaning methods materials, equipment, end
  • Ability to instruct housekeeping employees in the performance of manual tasks requiring moderate
  • A thorough knowledge of the operation of all mechanical cleaning
  • Ability to prepare written reports and other correspondence relating to the job as
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with subordinates as well as other supervisors and management personnel.
  • Ability to partner with clients individually, in family, to help them mobilize resources and their inner capacity to address problems they face.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with other team members, other Agency resources and outside services in addressing client
